SITRANS FM – Electromagnetic Flowmeters

SITRANS FM electromagnetic flowmeters.
It is a flow rate measurement based on Faraday’s law, the sensor coils generate a magnetic field and the fluid passing through it induces a voltage proportional to the flowing speed. The generated voltage proportional to the flow and speed is converted by an associated transmitter into standard signals (type 4/20mA).
Suitable for volumetric flow rates of any liquid as long as it is conductive (minimum conductivity 5μS/cm), such as most industrial and drinking water or other technological fluids used in industrial processes.
The main advantages in using the electromagnetic flow meter are:
– ideal for applications where reliability at the best value for money is required
– also works with sludge fluids or with suspended solids
– suitable for sanitary applications
– different internal coatings, also ideal for particularly aggressive liquids
– available with a wide range of diameters
– being “linesize & full-bore” it does not create pressure drops
– fewer diameters upstream and downstream are required for assembly than other technologies
